Taygete – 6 pitches, 6b+ 205 m. | Multi Pitch Climb in Pleiades Crag – Katafyki Ravine – Ermioni

Taygete (6b+, 205 m) was established and equipped in September 2022 by Vertical Art Greece, and first ascent was claimed by C. Rigas and Olympus Mountaineering. Taygete (6b+, 205 m) is located a bit southern (to the right) compared to Maia and starts from a nice dihedral, slightly left from the second obvious ridge of the west face of the Pleiades crag. Pleiades crag, is located on the west wall in the ravine of Katafyki, and specifically, between the Katafyki Main Crag and the Petrogerakas Crag.

Dardiza Bayby Shitter V- UIAA 20 m. | Trad Climbing in Dardiza Bay – Ermioni

“Dardiza Bayby Shitter” (V-, 20 m.) first ascent was claimed on 08/07/2022 by V. Christopoulos, Olympus Mountaineering and C. Toutoutzis. The route is situated in the north face of the rock formation which is located north-west from Dardiza Bay, just few kilometers far from Ermioni.

The route can be described as an “introduction” to traditional climbing with a single pitch length and of maximum grade V- UIAA.

Maia – 5 pitches, 5c 178 m. | Multi Pitch Climb in Katafyki Ravine – Ermioni

Maia (5c, 178 m) was established and equipped in April 2022 by Vertical Art Greece, and first ascent was claimed by K. Grafanakis and Olympus Mountaineering.
Maia (5c, 178 m) follows the characteristic ridge which is located on the west wall in the ravine of Katafyki, and specifically, between the Katafyki Main Crag and the Petrogerakas Crag.
Maia (5c, 178 m) is 5 pitches long and it is fully equipped with bolts along its entire length so that the use of portable protection (nut, cams etc.) is not necessary. Anchors have been fitted to each belay station.

Climbing in Petrogerakas Crag – Ermionida – Argolis – Greece

A new sport climbing crag was developed near Ermioni and specifically near the already well established climbing crag Katafyki.

The crag was developed and equipped in early spring 2022 by Vertical Art Greece with main equipper K. Grafanakis and with a kind contribution of the local climbing community, Climb Ermionida.

The rock consists of grey-brown and red limestone of very good quality but due to the fact the crag is newly developed, the rock on some routes might be a bit sharp. In total there are 8 routes  for all types of climbing, but was mainly developed for climbers taking their first steps on the vertical walls.
